Pickled foods in Turkey are a big thing. Buying/picking fruits and vegetables at their most flavoursome time and hopefully at the time when they’ve also reached their lowest for the season and then preserving them to enjoy thoughout the year (or in reality until the last crunchy, piquant morsel is scooped out the jar and munched).
